What Is Yard Waste?
Yard waste is vegetative waste from the care and maintenance of landscaped areas, lawns and gardens — leaves, grass clippings, brush, garden waste, tree trunks, holiday trees and prunings.
What You Can Do
- Leave it on the lawn — grass clippings and leaf material replenish soil nutrients through natural decomposition.
- Place branches and limbs in an out-of-the-way area to provide habitat for birds.
- Start your own backyard compost pile.
- Take residential yard waste to your local compost drop-off.
Morrow County Yard Waste Facility
Township Road 127 (Loren Road), Mt. Gilead — at the rear of the waste water treatment plant, back entrance to Morrow County Fairground
Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (weather permitting). Closed Saturday & Sunday.
Sponsored by the DKMM Solid Waste District — free of charge. All materials must be loaded/unloaded by hand and removed from bags.
